NeeuroFIT Brain Training for Kids

Why Are Cognitive Skills Of First Importance?

Attention is the ability to selectively concentrate on important tasks while ignoring distractions. Our curriculum encourages our students to gain a higher attention span to  better process new concepts and complete daily tasks.

Memory is the storing and retrieving of information. It can be trained to improve aspects such as working memory, the ability to use relevant information in the midst of problem solving.

Spatial ability refers to the ability to understand, reason and remember the spatial relations among objects or space. Spatial training is therefore necessary for daily tasks like driving, using maps, and even exercising or playing sports.

Decision Making

We make decisions everyday, whether big or small. By training logic and reasoning skills, we can make more mindful decisions by analysing critical information and weighing alternatives.

Cognitive flexibility is vital for efficiently shifting your attention between tasks. An example is switching between listening during a lecture and taking notes.

Why Start Young?

In our early years, our brains are still developing and we want to give it as much opportunity to grow.

So the question is: How can we ensure that our cognitions peak faster and higher than our peers?

Vine Global, hence, offers the best opportunity to build a strong cognitive foundation that will help in school and in life.

For example, being bad in math could mean weaker processing skills which is closely linked with cognitive functions like Attention and Memory.

How are the cognitive functions related to our children’s academics and growth?

MEMORY: A strong memory is essential to the retention of newly acquired knowledge which helps in word recognition, as well as retaining complex sentences and instructions.

ATTENTION: A longer attention span will help sustain mental energy that is essential in spending extended periods of time Ito understand texts and the ability discern underlying messages.

DECISION MAKING: The skill to interpret and process phrases and sentences is imperative in identifying grammatical and phonemic errors, essential in both speech and writing.

FLEXIBILITY: An agile mind will be able to approach a topic from different perspectives and will be receptive to new knowledge (complex words, literary devices) while preventing confusion with current knowledge.

MEMORY: A good working memory will strengthen the retention of information (formulas, solutions) which will assist in the application of knowledge and help one solve a mathematical problem with ease.

ATTENTION: A long attention span is essential to ensure focus during extended periods of analysis in seeking greater understanding of concepts and formulas.

SPATIAL: Spatial skills helps in the construction of mental models of structures and shapes from verbal descriptions in textbooks and questions.

FLEXIBILITY: A flexible mind will one to identify a variety of solutions to one single problem and hence apply an array of concepts to solve the problem.

MEMORY: A strong memory allows for high organisation of data essential to identifying the solutions to a problem.

ATTENTION: The ability to spend long periods of time explore and investigate assumptions is essential to solve problems.

SPATIAL: Visual-spatial skills are essential to visualise structures (etc. models of molecules) which will make retaining abstract information easier.

FLEXIBILITY: Cognitive flexibility enhances adaptation to new data and concepts through the ability to identify better information.

MEMORY: Developing memory capacity will enhance the retention of data and deepen the impression of sounds and touch (sensation) essential in various forms of art such as music and drawing.

ATTENTION: Long attention spans will allow room for one to delve into the art to fully conceive the depth of it.

SPATIAL: Strong visual-spatial skills will enhance visualisation of graphics through the construction of mental representations.

DECISION MAKING: Clarity in thought process will allow one to make decisions that will save time and resources, and hence achieve one’s goals in the shortest time with the least effort.

Cognitive Assessments

Quarterly Reports

Through our quarterly cognitive reports, you will have a detailed understanding of your child’s cognitive skills and where they stand when benchmarked against children of their age group.

Subsequently, the reports will provide straightforward information on what your child is capable of and how it relates to their daily lives.

Moreover, you will be aware of the specific cognitive skills that have been trained and the improvements that have been made.

Sneak Peak into the Games

Psychic Cyclist

Psychic Cyclist is a game that interacts directly with the SenzeBand through a BCI system using brainwave sensors. Aimed at improving a person’s focus and attention span, the objective of the game is to make a cyclist move along a path, using only your focus.

Sushi Recall

Sushi Recall is an n-back brain training game that consists of 10 levels, with levels that reach up to “4-back”. It gets more challenging as the levels increase. This acts as a form of mental stimuli as the person carrying out the task is to continuously maintain and manipulate information in their working memory. Studies have shown that n-back training can be very useful, if done properly and regularly.

What are the SenzeBand and Memorie and how will these help my child?

The SenzeBand and Memorie are brain training solutions that work together. Regular use of these two, together, enhances cognitive abilities. Additionally, as the training takes place through the application, the SenzeBand tracks the brain effort expended and monitors your child’s progress.

How will NeeuroFIT help children to develop their mental capabilities at a faster pace?

Firstly, our curriculum enables children to develop their cognitive functions through fun and engaging methods. Secondly, as cognitive skills serve as the basis of a child’s mental capabilities, continuous brain training to improve these functions could lead to better academic performance through a higher attention span, better problem solving ability and language, etc.

How long till I see the results?

The results differ from person to person as the intensity, consistency, and whether the games are being played properly are factors in getting results. According to studies, at least 15 hours of training is required before improvements are made.

Does my child need to play the games at home?
Yes. Think of our training as going for piano lessons. You do not become a good pianist by practicing during lesson. You learn how to practice in class, go home and put in the hours before being the world class pianist you wish to be. Similarly, in class, we will teach your child the best methods of brain training, through our app, and your child has to continue the training at home. We will need you to be committed and to work with us closely.
Do I need to purchase the Senzeband for the course?
We will be providing the Senzebands and tablets for all the lessons. However, you may purchase a personal Senzeband if you wish to carry on tracking your child’s mental effort when they are doing the training at home.
Where are the classes conducted?
We have partnered enrichment centres, child cares and pre schools all over Singapore to give you the greatest convenience possible. When booking a trial class, you will be able to select the nearest centre to you. In the meantime, we will continue looking for more partners!
